Kevin...EXCELLENT JOB!! This is the first time in about 5 months or so that I have had the chance to view the web page. The photos are particuarlly enjoyable. It is amazing to see how folks change throughout the years. I'm hoping that when I come to Ireland next May that I will be able to see Maghery and Armagh play a match or two. To me, there is nothing better than Gaelic Football. (Personally, I think it puts American football to shame). I will continue to check in periodically up until my visit to Milltown/ Maghery next year. Until then, keep up the good work, and God Bless one and all!!! |

I HEARD A STORY THAT MY GRANDFATHER, PADDY "PLUCKER" FOX, FROM THE BACK MOSS, "ACQUIRED" MAGHERY'S FIRST SKIP WHICH HE ALLEDGEDLY GOT IN ROSCOMMON.
CAN ANYBODY VERIFY OR ELABORATE ON THIS?
ALSO, HIS FATHER, BARNEY, HAD AN ONGOING ARGUMENT WITH HIS BROTHER JOEY. JOEY CLAIMED HE KICKED THE FIRST BALL OVER THE BAR DURING MAGHERY'S FIRST EVER GAME. MEANWHILE BARNEY REPLIED THAT HE KICKED THE SECOND BALL OVER THE BAR BUT SENT THE DIVET OVER WITH IT!! |
