Winning start for the champions, Crossmaglen

As expected the reigning Armagh S.F. champions, Crossmaglen Rangers easily defeated Maghery in the opening round of the Armagh SFC at the weekend.

Leading by 2-4 to nil at the interval the Crossmaglen Rangers side were always in control in what was a disappointing game at the Keady venue on Sunday evening last. John McEntee dominated the midfield sector in the second-half as the champions scored at will in what was a very one-sided encounter.

This win shows that the Crossmaglen Rangers side are very much focussed to continued their dominance of the Orchard county senior football scene as they go for a record-breaking ten in a row this season.

Scorers for Crossmaglen Rangers were - Oisin McConville 2-3, S. Kernan 0-2, A. Kernan 0-2, John McEntee 0-2, M. Aherne 0-2, John Donaldson, T. Kernan, C. Shortt and Johnny Murtagh 0-1. Maghery scorers were - S. Forker, C. Forker and K. Lavery 0-1 each
