MAGHERY Sean MacDermott’s GFC have finalised arrangements for the official opening of their new park with Armagh playing Westmeath on Sunday, March 16 at 3pm. This exciting event will provide an ideal opportunity for all Armagh Gaels to show their appreciation for Joe Kernan and his All-Ireland winning side as they take on Westmeath – the only team in the NFL with a 100 per cent record.
The ceremonies will continue over the weekend. On Saturday, April 12 the Armagh ‘over forties’ team will play a local Loughshore line-up and on Sunday, April 13, reigning All-Ireland minor football champions Derry take on Armagh minors at 1.30pm.
Archbishop Sean Brady will perform the blessing at 3pm, followed by the Maghery senior team’s first league game at 3.30pm. Tickets for the event can be purchased from any committee member.
