Pearse Og are through to the Armagh SFC final when on Saturday, 8th of September at Davitt Park, Lurgan they defeated a gallant Maghery side on a scoreline of 0-10 to 1-6. The Armagh city side were the better side all through but they got it hard to break away from their opponents who were inspired on the day by young county midfielder James Lavery. In a close and competitive opening half Pearse Og were ahead by 0-4 to 0-2 and the game was still very much in the balance.
Pearse Og played some of their best football in the third quarter and led by 0-8 to 1-2 with the game entering its final quarter. Maghery finished the game strongly but in the end they came up short losing by a one point margin.
The Pearse Og mentors introduced their All-Star footballer Ronan Clarke to the proceedings early in the second-half and he made a contribution. However, it was his younger brother Sean, who made the greater contribution when he was introduced to the proceedings.
