19 August 2007
Maghery defeated Killeavy in the quarter final of the Armagh Senior Football Championship on a score of Maghery 0-12 Killeavy 0-10.
Maghery were marginally the better team in the first period, and after squandering several good goal scoring opportunites were glad to see goal keeper Kieran Fox dive low to his left to save a Stephen McDonnell penalty just before the interval.
Maghery lead at the break 0-06 to 0-05. Killeavy were reduced to 14 men early in the second half and Maghery quickly added 4 well taken points to lead by 0-10 to 0-05.
Killeavy came back to level the game 0-10 each, mainly thanks to the accuracy of Stephen McDonnell from placed ball. When it mattered most Maghery regained their composure to add 2 more well taken points and held on for a deserved win.
In the other quarter finals Pearse Og defeated Ballymacnab while Carrickcruppen drew with Tir na nOg and Crossmaglen drew with Dromintee.
