Maghery off to a Winning Start in Ulster League
21 February 2006
Last Sunday Maghery registered another win in the Ulster club League against Monaghan’s Donaghmoyne. This is the second win out of two games in the competition.
The week before last, Maghery defeated Gortin in Felix Hamil Park, Maghery. It was a hard fought win but a well deserved one as the Loughshore men dominated much of the match and managed to keep the Gortin attacks at bay. A combination of solid defending from the Maghery back-line led by Eamon Toye, tireless work from Stephen Cusack and some impressive scoring from Paul, Seamus and Conor Forker kept Maghery in front throughout the game. Final score Maghery 0-11 Gortin 0-09.
This Sunday Maghery are away to Longstone (Down). There will be a bus travelling to the match, leaving from the social club at 12.30pm sharp. All children MUST be accompanied by an adult.
